I always enjoy designing knitwear, but one of my favourite parts of designing our range is seeing the knitwear for our Mini me samples arrive - they are just so cute! I select my favourite styles, those that I predict to be bestsellers in the new collection and check they will work with our minis. My daughter, Clementine, just loves 'Matching Mum'.
When I design a Mini me collection I work with our most durable yarns, those that will stand the test of time with toddlers. I keep the range small and order a limited amount of units. Sustainability is a big focus at Maxted and reducing waste is part of that. Please get in quick if you want to match your mini.
Here are some of our favourite mum and baby matching styles
Our Number 1 style is Chloe Cardigan in Oat Twist and Breton Stripe.
This is our best-selling cardigan and the neutral Oat Twist pairs well with other wardrobe staples.
Here are Clementine and I in the Breton Stripe Chloe Cardigan, that we have been living in. It has a nautical coastal feel, which is perfect for us living along the Surf Coast .
The second style I added to the Mini Me collection was our Seven Waffle Pullover, new this season in a Waffle Stitch the Seven Pullover is an oversized jumper that looks great with so many outfits - it's an easy winner.
Clem and I favour the Sage Green, we love that all the styles are unisex and can be handed down to other family members.
Pebble is our best-selling neutral colour. It's exclusive to Maxted as it's crafted by a mix of different tones of yarn. Clem wears this colour from last year's collection and it isn't stained, which is remarkable as she refuses to wear a bib.
Grey Twist is a new colour this season which feels fresh. It looks great back with blue or back denim.
Our last style is our best-selling Seven Pullover in a rib stitch updated with contrasting popping trims. Clem and I are wearing the Ochre/Pink colourway.
The other colour option is the Navy/ Pale Blue Seven pullover. I've got one ready for Monty (aka baby Number 2) when he is big enough!
