It's the start of autumn, but that doesn't mean we have to be sad to say goodbye to summer; in fact we love the cooler months! Blustery winter walks on the beach with our dog, warm coffees and reading books by the fire!

Maxted is born and based in Victoria and we're so lucky to live in such a diverse state with incredible places to visit. We wanted to share our favourite places to escape to in Victoria so enjoy our 5 favourite spots to visit in Victoria. We hope they inspire your wanderlust like they do ours!

1) Barwon Heads

Maxted in Barwon Heads

Barwon Heads is one of our favourite places in the world. It's the location for many of our clothing shoots and it's somewhere we visit often. Pictured is Maxted's owner Caroline and her dog, Bracken. Caroline loves Baron Heads for beach walks with Bracken and her family.

We recommend 13th beach and At the Heads Restaurant - also Jack Rabbit Winery is not far!

2) Sorrento

Sorrento

Infamous Sorrento; the beachside town of millionaires and boutiques. It's such a fun place to visit and people watch. Walk up a blustery beach, sit in a warming cafe or peruse European and Australian boutiques and chains along the high street. It's impossible to get bored in Sorrento.

3) Daylesford

Daylesford

Daylesford is in the foothills of the Great Dividing Range north west from Melbourne, over and hour's drive from the city centre. It claims to be the heart of Victoria's spa country.

It's a beautiful, country town with bustling tourism and great guest houses to escape to.

We recommend: Daylesford's Cider Farm

4) Torquay

Torquay

The home for Maxted and Maxted's family. We love Torquay. It's family fun for all ages with heaps of restaurant choices and more importantly a huge surf fandom! If you like surfing, want to learn or want to watch others do the surfing instead, Torquay is the perfect place.

Photographer Leslie Carvitto completed a photoshoot here for Maxted and she is one of Maxted's Inspiring women. You can read about Leslie here.

5) The Otways

The Otways

"where coastal rainforest meets wild Southern Ocean on the Great Ocean Road". The Otways are ideal for hiking and surrounding yourself in nature. Escape, relax and take a breath.

We recommend a treat at: Brae - which won the Good Food Guide's 2020 restaurant of the year
